Ascend Services Group is led by James Wooton, a Principal Consultant with a rare dual-competency in mechanical engineering and executive business strategy.

With over 25 years in the energy sector, he has advanced from building services engineering and mechanical systems to leading complex decarbonisation strategies for global industry. This operational pedigree ensures that Ascend’s strategic advice is grounded in technical reality - bridging the critical gap between design intent and on-site performance.

James acts as a Technical Advisor for Tier 1 industrial and commercial clients. His portfolio spans the full energy lifecycle: from managing multi-million pound capital investment projects and renewable energy integration (Solar, CHP, Heat Pumps) to ensuring rigorous compliance and driving operational cost reductions.

Whether optimising critical data centre infrastructure or delivering large-scale sustainability strategies, he focuses on the intersection of asset resilience and commercial ROI.
